LOUISVILLE, KY, June 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — DPL Financial Partners (“DPL”), the leading turnkey insurance platform for registered investment advisors (“RIAs”) and one of the fastest growing fintech companies in the RIA channel, announced the appointment of Tom Smith as the firm’s Chief Growth Officer. Tom will be tasked with accelerating growth through partnerships with additional insurance carriers, distribution platforms and national RIA firms.
“With over three decades of experience helping to evolve and blend retirement planning, asset management and insurance, Tom’s experience will help us continue, and even accelerate, our ability to help RIAs to expand their practices beyond asset management,” said DPL Founder and CEO David Lau. “Based on our proprietary and innovative insurance technology, we’re generating tremendous demand for partnership. Tom’s track record in business development will allow us to capitalize on these exciting opportunities.”
Prior to joining DPL, Smith served in a variety of roles at Principal Financial Group, from partnerships to national sales leadership and most recently as Head of Global Firm Relations. In that capacity, he focused on bringing retirement, asset management and insurance together to more fully optimize relationships and leveraged shared resources to maximize the utilization of Principal products and services.
“I look forward to playing a role in the paradigm shift that DPL is spearheading in the RIA channel as well as the annuity and insurance space,” said Smith. “I am passionate about finding ways to help Americans shore up their retirement security and want to be a part of the continued development of the innovative retirement income solutions DPL offers.”
