The Federalist staff reacts to Friday’s jury verdict that Kyle Rittenhouse is not guilty on all charges on this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour.

Publisher Ben Domenech, Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky, D.C. Columnist Eddie Scarry, and Assistant Editor Kylee Zempel break down the spiraling false media narratives, the expected reaction in Wisconsin, and what this case says about how communities handle violence and riots going forward.

“The media is going to play this game again,” Domenech said. “They will be drawing this out and doing their best to spin this result into yet another indication of white supremacy.”

The Kenosha riots prove that we are not protected from human nature and absolutely need the right to self-defense, Jashinsky noted.

“This past summer … people felt like cops weren’t there to protect their property,” Domenech said. “If you’ve lived through that, it is a feeling that no one else is there for you, to solve your problems or defend you, so you have to defend yourself.”
