More than an acre of premises surround the chateau in the Arcadia location of Scottsdale, Arizona.

It’s a real trompe l’oeil. This French chateau offers every impression of being embeded in Provence, an area of southeastern France understood for ancient hill towns, lavender fields and rolling vineyards.

And while the estate properly shows that heritage, it’s really situated throughout an ocean and some 5,800 miles away in the Arcadia area of Scottsdale, Arizona. The protected, older neighborhood– a previous orange grove– is an irrigation-fed green sanctuary with a diverse mix of architecture.

The romantic house was the production of home builder Claude Olney, who was influenced by a photo of a French historical monolith in a style book He and artist/art remediation professional Ed Davieau teamed up on the Provencal-style home, which includes mottled tile roofing systems, quoin-stone strengthened corners and ionic columns, providing an aged patina to the façade.

Inside, the duration information are much more noticable with Renaissance friezes and window decorations that remember the kind of work carried out in the mid-1500 s. Hand-adzed mining lumber beams and wattle-and-daub plasterwork contribute to the frozen-in-time look.

The French nation kitchen area exhibits character with heavy beams, large slab floorings and an adjacent consuming location with a fireplace.

Yet modern-day features were integrated throughout the 8,030 square feet of living area.
