An Airbus A330 coming from Turkish Airlines scraped its tail on the runway on departure. It went back to Istanbul later.

The Airbus A330-300 was working flight TK726 from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Tribhuvan Worldwide Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, Nepal. The airplane (TC-JOG) circled around over Northern Turkey for more than 4 hours to burn fuel prior to landing securely back on runway 35 R at Istanbul Airport at around 00: 40.

A post-flight assessment determined small damage to the underside of the airplaneā€™s tail, and the aircraft was consequently grounded.
