WASHINGTON – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is preparing a draft ecological evaluation of airfield, security and terminal enhancements at the West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW). The firm will hold a number of public conferences on the draft Environmental Impact Statement for the jobs, which are proposed by the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority (CWVRAA).

The suggested jobs consist of the shift and extension of Runway 5-23 and the parallel taxiway to enhance the runway security location to satisfy FAA style requirements, and enhancements to the terminal centers. The suggested tasks will deal with required upgrades and support the existing and projection air travel need at the airport. The EIS will assess the possible ecological results of the suggested tasks.

The FAA will host 2 in-person conferences on Nov. 2 and 3, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. EST at the Embassy Suites, 300 Court Street, Charleston, W.V.; and a virtual conference on Nov. 7, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
