Whether you realize it or not, you have created habits throughout your life that shape the way you live today. If you created a habit of tithing and saving a percentage of your earnings before spending money on expenses, chances are you have a good amount of savings ready to invest. If you’re in the habit of going to the gym each morning and controlling your portion sizes, you’re probably in great shape! Develop The Habit Of Self-Discipline What if you aren’t practicing good habits right now? Guilty pleasures like overeating, spending money you don’t have, and wasting hours watching TV or playing video games can lead to a shorter, less fulfilling life. I’m about to share how to take control of your feelings and overcome your own weaknesses! Studies have shown that it takes anywhere from 18 to 254 days for people to form a new habit. If you’ll push

Reward Yourself

Many Americans live lavishly but finance their lifestyles with credit cards or high-interest rate loans. In this chapter, I’d like to connect with those of you on the other end of the spectrum, who deprive yourself to a point of making life almost unbearable. If you ignore the need to reward yourself, you will regret it later on! To be honest, I’m writing this from personal experience. I’ve always been the guy working harder than necessary but never feeling like it was enough to deserve a reward. At times I made more money in one day than many of my friends had made in months. But even with that great income, I still lived in the back of one of my phone stores and drove a beat-up old truck. I refused to spend money on anything that wasn’t building the business. I reasoned that every dollar I put in generated a

Practice Delayed Gratification

Practicing delayed gratification means resisting the temptation of immediate rewards. In exchange, you increase the possibility of a greater reward in the future. Most people are terrible at practicing delayed gratification. We live in a society that allows us to have what we want when we want it, even if we don’t deserve it. For many of us, self-discipline, restraint, and self-control are difficult skills to attain. For evidence, look at how many Americans are overweight. Currently, over 70% of Americans qualify as overweight or obese. Or, take a look at their debt from financing new vehicles, smartphones, clothing, and vacations. 80% of Americans are in debt. Consumer Reports says that in 2013, 84.5% of all cars on the road were financed. Studies show that the practice of delayed gratification and success go hand in hand. People who can manage their immediate desires in their jobs, relationships, health, and finances

Interview with Connie Wyatt (CMO of Best Cellular)

Connie Wyatt is one of the most motivated, dedicated, and loyal people I’ve ever met. She serves as the Chief Marketing Officer of Best Cellular. Besides all of that, I’m also blessed to say that Connie Wyatt is my mom! I mentioned earlier in the book that I owe much of my success to her. When I was a kid, we had almost nothing. Yet, she helped my little brother and me pick out a nice suit and tie from the local thrift store as she worked hard to save up money to take us to business seminars and leadership conferences. She bought leadership books, success books, and personal development books to teach us from. While many kids got an allowance, my mom would instead put a few bucks in the back of a book for us. Finishing the book was our way of earning money for things we wanted. Connie
