Malaki Black def. Dante Martin
This was a phenomenal match where the story revolved around Dante Martin selling his knee. The finish came when Martin attempted a one-legged springboard, only to take a Black Mass.
Malakai Black gave Martin a nod following this match, putting over the promising young star in defeat.
Lio Rush announced he would be in a tag team with Dante Martin moving forward. The two teased that there is tension, and there will definitely be tension when Darius Martin gets back, which dampens the possibility of what would be an incredible Top Flight-Lio Rush trios team.
Inner Circle Faces off with American Top Team
This crowd was white hot for this segment, even chanting for Sammy Guevara before anybody even said a word.
Dan Lambert was great as usual, and the amount of heat he gets while speaking is more than anybody not named MJF.
It wasn’t very clear, but I’m pretty sure Sammy Guevara issued an open challenge to anybody in America’s Top Team.
FTR def. The Lucha Bros—AAA Tag Team TISI Championships
CM Punk didn’t even pretend like he didn’t know who was under those masks, calling it out immediately. Despite how obvious it was that it was FTR under the masks, when Punk called it out, Tony Schiavone hailed him as the next Tony Romo for being so prescient.
This crowd was shocked when FTR won this match, possibly because they thought it was being competed for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Jon Moxley def. Wheeler Yuta
This match was the same length as Jungle Boy’s terrible backstage promo, yet Jungle Boy’s promo felt ten-times longer.
Jon Moxley seems destined to turn heel, and the latest clue was Orange Cassidy dubiously staring him down after this match.
Young Bucks and Adam Cole def. The Dark Order
Evil Uno used Nick Jackson’s sock for a Mr. Socko spot, and it got a bigger pop than anything on this show.
Even CM Punk seems to know that The Young Bucks’ Jordans are fake.
This match was so much fun. At one point, Adam Cole performed his Boston Crab-Young Bucks kiss spot, but instead, Alex Reynolds and John Silver kissed him instead.
MJF Faces off with Sting
MJF’s promo was drowned out by an incensed Tony Schiavone rant on commentary.
In the world’s longest tease of a split, MJF threw Wardlow into Sting before running off.
Penelope Ford vs. Kiera Hogan
There was an early botch on a leapfrog that seemed to drag this match down, especially with the crowd being mostly silent for it.
Despite both women being capable wrestlers, this match was all kinds of terrible.
Hangman Adam Page Appears Live
Hangman cut a great babyface promo that made you excited to see him win the AEW World Championship. Jungle Boy can learn a thing, or 10, from this.
It just feels like this is Hangman Adam Page’s time. I feel like if he doesn’t beat Kenny Omega at Full Gear, there may be no coming back for a while, if ever.
Bryan Danielson def. Bobby Fish
Fans in Miami opted to chant “Si!” instead of “Yes” due to the strong Latino presence in the city.
This was just a bunch of wrestling for the sake of wrestling with no build, so I could only care so much. For me, the best part of this match was CM Punk’s commentary.
