Adele [330 articles]”>Adele’s comeback single Easy On Me is a multiple record breaker.


Released on streaming platforms on Friday October 15, the track, the first single off the British artist’s forthcoming album 30, became the most streamed song globally on Spotify [2,605 articles]”>Spotify in a single day, shattering BTS’s Spotify record for day-one plays in the process.

Now, adding to that record, the single has also become Spotify’s most streamed track in a week, racking up 84.95 million chart streams in its first seven days on the platform.

This record-breaking tally hasn’t been officially announced by Spotify, but based on filtered chart-eligible streams, which are posted publicly via, Easy on Me was streamed more times than the previous record holder.

Spotify publishes two daily stream-counts for popular tracks on its service, including unfiltered streams, which are not publicly published (except sometimes by record labels); and filtered streams, which are available on

The previous record for the most streams in a single week on Spotify – based on filtered stream counts – was held by Olivia Rodrigo, whose single Good 4 u, was streamed 84.13 million times over the seven days between May 21 to May 27.

Eleswhere, the official video for Adele’s Easy On Me has also surpassed 100 million views on YouTube [1,196 articles]”>YouTube and the song is currently No.1 on the US Hot 100.

Meanwhile, over in the UK, Adele’s new single hit No.1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart for the week ending October 22, and smashed a few more records in the market along the way.

According to figures from the UK’s Official Charts Company, the artist’s third UK No.1 single gained 217,300 chart sales in its first week, the highest week one figure since Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You, which earned 226,800 in January 2017.

Easy On Me also racked up 24 million streams in the UK, topping Ariana Grande’s record of 16.9 million set in January 2019 with 7Rings, and earned the biggest week of UK digital download sales of 2021 so far, with 23,500.

Easy On Me was Adele’s first new release in six years, and is the lead track from her upcoming album 30, set to be released on November 19.

Adele’s third, and previous album, 25, sold 7.4m copies in the US alone in just six weeks.

In the UK, it went Platinum in its opening 24 hours, despite not being added to streaming services like  Spotify [2,586 articles]”>Spotify and  Apple Music [943 articles]”>Apple Music until seven months later.

Vogue, which published two interviews with the star in the US and the UK a couple of weeks ago, reported that ‘Adele is adamant’ that the new album be released on streaming services, in addition to vinyl and CD.
